We’ve dined at so many restaurants and readers are always asking me about the places that we’ve patronized. So I’m deciding to do a review of each and every place in the future to help you out in your travels. In fact, I’m planning on adding a topic to the top of this page where you just hit the tab and it will take you to all the restaurant reviews. As for today, we traveled down to Raleigh to meet with Ryan prior to his flight back home to Philly. He had been doing business in the Charlotte area and had some down time. We also thought we may be able to see Erin once she was done with work and Ryan had left for the airport. We decided to dine at the Baby Moon Cafe, less than two miles from the airport. I found this little gem by googling eateries near the RDU. We chose to eat outside as tables were cozily set on a patio sequestered behind vine ladened lattice. Huge electric heaters overhead would have provided plenty of comfort in the coming fall months but today, outdoor ceiling fans kept any insects away and just the correct amount of air flow providing comfort without notice. Sinatra, Pavarotti, and Dean Martin swooned on the speakers in the background providing just enough ambiance to make one feel that the sights of Tuscany may be just around the corner. Robin chose Chicken Alfredo as her entree, Ryan going with the Giarmo salad and a side of rigatoni. I played it safe with a Spaghetti Bolognese in vodka sauce. Three glasses of white zinfandel, some sweet tea and three desserts brought the total bill to $88, a bit pricey but given the fact that the wine and desserts amounted to $36, it wasn’t quite as hefty as one might think. Our wait staff couldn’t have been more accomodating. It was a wonderful time, chatting with Ryan about the upcoming wedding. We departed, he going to the airport and the two of us, off to catch up with Erin. The girls had to run to Target while I was busying myself truck hunting as I’ve been toying with a paradigm shift as of late which we’ll talk about soon. However, if you are ever near the Raleigh-Durham Airport and looking to fill your belly with some great Italian, give the Baby Moon Cafe a chance. You won’t be disappointed.
