I ‘ll get you all up to speed as I’ve not posted for a few days due to mental lapses caused by years of thinking too hard. Dinner was great in Montana, a new place called the Rainbow room. No, it wasn’t named so for the female lifestyle persuasion. I don’t know why the name. But it was the best steak we’ve had in some time. Kyle and Renee were a delight to have as company. Worked on Saturday and then that evening was the usual campfire. It’s not only a habit, but it has now come to be expected by the local community. 20 people in attendance at this festive pyre. You could count on two fingers those that we without wine or some spirits in their hands and as usual for a crowd dominated by baby boomers the conversation soon became randy and lewd. Just the way we like it. Robin and I turned in at midnight as we had to work on Sunday. A busy day at the course. This rangering is ‘mind numbing’ to me. I regret giving up the starters position but maybe some good karma will come my way as a result. Sunday night was relegated to catching up on laundry and resting our weary legs. And speaking of legs, Robin received a call this morning prior to work. Finally, after all this time the comp people have OK’d her MRI. I’ll never go thru worker’s comp again. Even if it was an accident at work. We’ll use our own insurance. It’s much faster and you get treated like a real person that way. The comp people treat you as scum and place you at the bottom of the rung. I guess it’s the bad apples that make it hard for those of us the don’t abuse it. Tomorrow we travel to Bismarck for the test. But wait, another call only moments later. It was the orthopedic surgeons office. He wants to see her after the MRI in his office and get information for surgery either Thursday or Friday. Apparently he’s pretty sure she has to undergo the knife. Her days of working may be numbered this month. We’ll see and I’ ll keep all you family and friends posted with phone calls. We’re looking forward to friends visiting us tomorrow evening. We met Sherrie and Warren last winter while in Ocala, FL. They’re from Alberta, Canada and we hit it off real well and did some cycling together. They’re down in Sturgis for the biker’s festivities and should stop here for a visit on their way back home. Let’s hope for good news at the clinic tomorrow along with a visit from good friends.
Did the worker’s comp thing. Work related hearing loss. Took a year to complete the cycle. Finally got some money and hearing aids. And care for life, if I can take all of the waiting and such.
The good news was a possible cancer was discovered and eventually determined to be something less unpleasant. A minor internal deformity is easier to deal with than a brain tumor.
But then, you already know that!
Hope all goes well with the procedure.
Mike

Mike, thanks so much for the words of encouragement. Believe it or not, your words are an inspiration to me. Take care, man.
