After pulling out of that fiasco at Lake Worth we had to head north for an appointment with a windshield installer. The chips graced upon us due to flying highway debris now extended much like a two foot spider web. Not wanting to put a lot of time behind the wheel we decided to stop halfway and enjoy some extra free time. We made it to Lake Wales and Camp Mack River Park. Lake Wales is a bass fisherman’s paradise but we opted for another venue this trip as we had never taken an air boat ride. We chose to ride with Captain Fred’s Airboat Tours. This proved to be especially satisfying. Again we saw ‘gators’ but this time there were a plethora of birds, the names of which I have no idea. But enjoy their photos. Robin got to drive the airboat as I believe the Captain took a fancy to her. She also got a great shot of a bald eagle high atop a cypress. And I got some pix of her feeding some rare birds that feet were so adept that they literally walked atop the lily pads.
Beautiful pictures, almost as good as being there. We had a little taste of spring today…….gives me hope!
