Graduation

GRADUATION

My best friend called me late tonight. He was crying a bit, wrought with melancholy and a bit of self-induced guilt. His son had just graduated from high school and he didn’t know how to handle his bittersweet feelings. I was honored that I was the one he called as he said, “ I knew you were the only one that would understand where I’m at”. So here is the time of season for many of you out there who have sons and daughters graduating. You’ll beam with pride, your heart swelling inside. The smile upon your face will tell all and at the same time inside you’re wrenching because a milestone has been reached and nothing will ever be the same again.Just remember this as a bit of solace. On that night, you say “goodbye to a child, and hello to a friend”.
